The safest, most effective therapies for optimal health!
by Ellen Landauer
The issue of how to retain a coffee enema is probably one of the main apprehensions of the uninitiated.
It is all too often compounded by cultural prejudice against a particular small, round opening that's not supposed to be seen (and especially not heard)!
Bravo for being here! Clearly, you are an independent thinker, strong-willed and ready for adventure!
Now, let's get started...
If you have done some colon cleansing beforehand, such as a colon hydrotherapy session or colema (home colonic), you will have more capacity inside to contain the coffee enema.
Regular exercise, good body awareness and a healthy diet and lifestyle also help make things easier.
Though not ideal, you can try coffee enema even if you are just beginning to improve your lifestyle. Use 1/4 the recommended amount of coffee to start, then gradually increase by 1 level teaspoon each time. **If you are recovering from substance abuse or have taken a lot of prescription drugs, or have any possible health issues, get the ok from your doctor first.
It takes only about 3 minutes for all the blood in your body to be filtered once by your liver.
Ideally, retain a coffee enema for 15 minutes or a little longer. This length of time will give your blood a thorough cleansing. No wonder coffee enema is also referred to as 'caffeine dialysis!'
At first, it may seem a daunting idea to retain a coffee enema for ANY length of time. The guidelines below are the foundation for success, and have helped clients to enjoy and look forward to this wonderful therapy.
Once this magnificent liver cleanse is a regular part of your health protocol, it is much easier to do than when first starting out (like many things in life).
You may one day find yourself blissfully lying in a cozy warm bed as the coffee takes effect, confident in the process and happier, more relaxed and contented than you could have imagined!
HELPFUL HINT: If you are a beginner, make twice as much coffee as you plan to use. In case you can't retain the first dose, you will have another on hand. If you don't need the second dose, you can store it in the refrigerator for up to a week, especially if it is the lightest, most potent Gold Roast Enema Coffee.
Following the suggestions below will provide you with the know-how to easily retain a coffee enema...

There are several factors that influence the capacity to retain a coffee enema.
1 - Coffee Enema Temperature
2 - Pelvic Floor Muscle Fitness
3 - How Well Your Colon is Functioning
4 - Coffee Roast Quality
Too warm is not safe, and too cold is likely to activate your colon, causing it to contract and expel the liquid.
Temperature adjustment of your coffee enema takes a little time to learn. If you are a beginner, better to err on the slightly cooler side than risk having it too hot.
A good way to be safe is to immerse your pinky in the coffee and keep it there for 10 seconds. Remember that your finger is less delicate and less sensitive to heat than the mucus membrane lining your gut.
To best retain a coffee enema, it should feel comfortably warm with NO hint of 'hot,' that is best.
It is much easier to retain a coffee enema with strong pelvic floor muscles.
The muscles of your pelvic floor (pubococcygeal muscles) are a bit like a multi-layered hammock supporting the abdominal organs.
To tone these muscles, Kegel exercises are recommended.
Benefits of Kegel exercises go way beyond the specific purpose we are discussing here.
For both men and women, Kegel exercises done properly improve sexual awareness of the genital area, response and orgasmic intensity.
If you are totally unfamiliar with your pelvic floor, it will benefit you in a variety of ways to get in touch with it.
First and easiest way to feel those muscles is to experiment with stopping urine flow in mid-stream.
Once you know where the pubococcygeal muscles are and how to contract them, you can exercise them to improve tone. Try a slowly increasing contraction and tighten as far as you can, then SLOWLY release. Three times is a nice beginning session.
You can also try a staccato rhythm. Do maybe 10 repetitions at first and work up gradually to around 100.
After each round, take a full, deep breath and gently let the muscles totally relax and 'hang down.'
Over time, you will come to enjoy Kegel exercises. They can be done anywhere, any time - and no one will know you're doing them - unless you say so (I'm doing them right now as I sit writing this).
Especially if you are doing 'caffeine dialysis' for the first time, you may want to make it easier with some preparatory colon hydrotherapy.
When there is less matter in your colon, that is a big help. While there is a continuous flow of waste moving toward the far end of your body (as it should), if you are clogged and constipated being able to retain a coffee enema is likely to be 'challenging.'
If you are chronically very bloated and full in the abdominal area, you CAN still do this process. To retain a coffee enema, you just need to cleanse thoroughly with around 2 quarts of lukewarm water beforehand to make room for the coffee.
BUT, you may want to consider treating yourself to a professional colonic the day before. That could transform your 'maiden voyage' into a more delightful experience.
The darker and shinier the beans, the LESS desirable they are for the hallowed status of enema coffee.
If you are just trying this technique for the first time, an organic free trade light roast is good. Look for the lightest brown beans with a DULL finish. These worked wonderfully for me for a couple of years.
I discovered the most FABULOUS Blonde Roast Coffee made especially for enema purposes.
Not only is it very smooth and the easiest of all coffees to retain, it is PACKED FULL of the compounds that make coffee enemas such a powerful healing tool. Two forms of palmitic acid (cafestol palmitate and kahweol palmitate), activate the glutathione s-transferase enzyme system, one of THE most powerful body detoxifiers.
In addition, it contains more caffeine than organic light roast found at health stores. Caffeine is the compound that stimulates the liver and gallbladder to discharge bile.
This special roast is so smooth and easy to retain. Except for the Zen-like state it typically induces, I sometimes don't even know it's there!
