The most important ingredient in any recipe is food quality. For your optimal health goals, you want to avoid conventionally raised ingredients for a host of compelling reasons. If you need any convincing, please see this article of mine.
I had some rib eye steak left over from the previous night. It had been pan-fried - quickly seared both sides on a hot pan with a little olive oil to prevent sticking. (Do NOT use 'non-stick' pans - very toxic! I only use stainless steel cookware.
Medium head of very fresh organic Romaine lettuce
1 cup or more, to taste, of tender lightly-seared pasture-fed steak
1/2 cup raw Extra-Virgin Olive Oil
Himalayan salt and Italian herbs to taste
A head of very fresh, crispy Romaine lettuce and very rare one inch chunks of steak are tossed high quality Olive Oil are seasoned with dried Italian herbs (oregano, marjoram, rosemary) and a sprinkle of himalayan diamond crystal salt.
The sweet flavor of the Romaine and chewy richness of the steak drenched in olive oil made this a recipe I will re-visit again and again.
The great thing is, it took about five minutes to put it together (sans the approximately one minute of searing the steak. Of course, you want to let the steak cool in the refrigerator before tossing with the lsttuce.
