Oxytocin Production:
Increase the 'Love Hormone' by Reducing Stress

Oxytocin production increases the more you get the stress out of your life.
A very interesting aspect of this hormone is,
the more you increase it,
the more you are able to make
!
Unlike many other hormones and neurotransmitters, which have antagonists that kick in when production is abundant, oxytocin production begets more of the same!

Did you know..? STRESS (of ANY kind - emotional duress, toxic exposure of any kind, physical stress) is the biggest enemy of oxytocin production!

Below are important ways you can minimize stress - AND some things you can do that give you more of what is also - for good reason - called the 'love hormone.' (This hormone is also considered a neuropeptide, by the way).

How to Reduce Stress so You Can Increase Oxytocin Production

1 - Only the best foods for nourishment:
Stop eating junk, grains and reduce carbs.

2 - Take time outdoors in natural surroundings to recharge and renew.
Spend time around plants and animals. If you have a safe area to go barefoot, it is very healing to connect energetically with the earth energy.

3 - Detoxification - in this world, we ALL can benefit from body cleansing.
Common toxins such as mercury and other heavy metals, solvents, pesticides, etc., etc., all stress your body. The way the world is now, it is rarely enough to just eat good food, exercise, sleep well and have healthy family and friend relationships. To be optimally healthy, the vast majority of us MUST have an appropriate detox protocol in place.

Cleansing toxins out of the body reduces physiological stress, supporting greater oxytocin production. Some of my readers'favorite detoxification products are: Medicardium, Glytamins, Xeneplex, Glutathione and Chlorella.

If you are taking prescription drugs, or thinking of doing so, do your research and think seriously about what you are getting into. Take steps to minimize drugs if at all possible. All drugs have deleterious side effects.

4 - Minimize exposure to EMF's (electro-magnetic fields).
Turn off the wi-fi in your house while you sleep; also unplug Dect cordless phones, turn off your cell phone and i-pad, etc. 

If you are serious about health, you will want to try switching off the circuit breaker to your bedroom(s) at night so you and your kids can get a significantly more restful sleep. (A friend of ours has 'old-fashioned night' once a week and the kids love it - they turn off the electricity and all devices in the house and eat and read by candle light - then sleep through the night before switching it back on).

5 - Develop your emotional health

Resolve conflicts, attend to your relationships - there are many ways to do this - too many to mention here.

6 - Just say NO to conventional media: 

Fear-mongering and toxic images of violence, vapidity or weirdness create stress and lower immunity, healthy neurotransmitters and oxytocin production. Why would you want to do that to yourself? Stop taking in toxicity served up by the media. Make up your mind to severely limit following the latest news stories; so much of it is distorted or lies anyway it is just a waste of time.  

Take heed to what you take in with your eyes, ears, touch and smell, etc. Many of my most intrepid readers tell me they pay very little attention to the conventional news media (mostly lies), don't watch TV and don't amuse themselves with the sickness, violence and vapidity that passes for entertainment.

Some Specific Ways to
Increase Oxytocin Production

Here is a list of some things you can do to increase your oxytocin production:

1 - Nourishment - share a meal with people whose company you enjoy.

2 - Enjoy exercise (notice I said 'enjoy' - if you exercise in a robotic, repetetive, obsessive way that is not what I mean). Savor and enjoy the lusciousness of your movement when you exercise and you will be on the right path.

3 - Pleasureable physical contact: Hug your mate or child, hold hands and/or dance with a friend, hold a baby, pet a puppy, dog or cat. Loving physical contact increases oxytocin production. Laughing together does, also!

Get a great massage, and also self-massage when you are applying oil or lotion.

4 - Spend time out in nature - the sights, sounds, scents and rhythms of the natural world are calming and healing. 

Barefooting in safe conditions is an EXCELLENT way to enjoy real contact with Mother Earth. 

5 - Enjoy loving sex: Last, but certainly not least, loving sexual activity: the oxytocin prduction resulting from orgasm is one of the highest of which we are capable.

More of the 'love hormone' will improve your health and mood, reduce pain, increase circulation, benefit relationships and reduce stress.
