How to get off drugs the natural way: Are you serious about health and healing? If so, this is one of many questions that should be asked.
All medications have health-damaging side effects; the only differences being how many and how severe they are. This includes any drugs (pharmaceutical or others) that you use.

Knowing how to get off drugs is vital to optimizing health since ALL medications have damaging side effects. Some mild, some not so mild.
Conventional medications work by interfering with some aspect of body function. For example, SSRI's block the brain from regulating neurotransmitters, causing a buildup of, say, serotonin. In this example, you can go into serotonin overload - which causes hallucinations and worse - OR your body ceases serotonin production because it is being signalled by the built-up serotonin not being eliminated that no production is needed. This can lead to a long-term impairment of serotonin production and more drug use with less effectiveness.
NOTE: There are some exceptions which may require the use of pharmaceuticals. In an emergency situation, a medication may be necessary to save a life or stabilize a severe situation. That is for you and your doctor to decide.
How to get off drugs is not a concern of far too many people. Most people have a limited ability to feel what's going on with them physiologically. This is why when they finally notice something is wrong, it's time for the doctor, conventional meds, the ER or worse. These are the same people who take drugs and may tell you, 'Nope, no side effects; I feel fine.'
An analogy to preventing a health crisis is driving a car. 'Defensive driving' entails situational awareness. You are attuned to your body messages, calmly sensing and evaluating the driving behavior of others. In this state, you are ready to respond appropriately and fast. Your senses are finely attuned, so much so that you may jam on the brakes before you are even aware of why.
But - if you are too much in your head and not enough in your body, you will miss the cues that tell you a potential accident is in the making right in front of you. Same with your health. Taking time and effort to connect with feeling in your body will give you hints of what may be coming and opportunity to rectify it before needing drugs. The great benefit of connecting with feeling in your body is that you get to enjoy life much more as well.
Body awareness tells you the right direction to go in any situation - if only you tune in to those usually subtle messages - that 'still, small voice' that tell the truth.
Take it from me - this can help you avoid a heap of trouble. As well, honing body awareness can giving you the ability to notice when a fortuitous opportunity arises, which can change the course of your life.
How to get off drugs - dodge the bullet in the first place! Thoroughly research ANY drug, prescribed or not, BEFORE taking it!
**Assume that you will be one of those who experience the worst side effects and ask your body if it is willing to submit to that amount of damage.**
I'll give you an example from my own experience. After one of (thankfully very few) extensive dental procedures a (very rare) excellent dentist that I trusted very much prescribed Prednisone. I am aware that this drug can have some nasty side effects.
I thought, 'Well, he said I only needed to take it for a week.'
However before taking even one dose, I went to a site full of patient reviews of all manner of drugs - www.askapatient.com - to see what real people were saying about it. I found many comments that JUST ONE DOSE had in some cases done irreversible damage - had ruined lives for months or even years. I assumed I would be one of those.
Needless to say, I never took that first dose...
Note also that because search engines are increasingly restricting access to information that can set you free, you likely will have to do a very deep search to actually find the truth about conventionally recommended medicines or procedures. DO NOT ASSUME THAT THE TOP SEARCH RESULTS ARE TELLING THE TRUTH!
How to Get Off Drugs: the Bottom Line
1 - Take as much stress off your body as possible. Avoid exposure to: EMF's, toxins of all kinds, toxic people and situations, junk food, etc.
2 - Support your body: diet, detoxification, exercise, better sleeping conditions, time outdoors, people you feel good being around, etc.
3 - Create a strategy for ending dependence on drug(s). There are some instances where the help of a medical professional may be needed.
4 - Resolve to maintain and improve your self-care program for a lifetime.
