Question: Hi there,

I just read your article on Chlorella side effects. I've been taking XXX brand Broken Cell Chlorella for a while now, but since I increased the dose to their recommended 6 tablets I've had muscle problems, slight brain fog and eczema come up on my body. The Product is organically grown and seems to be a superior product. Will the symptoms go if I stop taking the Product?

Answer: I don't know if stopping the chlorella will make your symptoms go away; only way to find out is for you to stop and see what happens. Quality is suspect with such symptoms as you describe, assuming you find it is a result of taking this chlorella. Good luck, and let me know what you find.

Question: Hi Ellen, I know that you are a busy woman and I don't want to bother you. I'm worried that taking this Chlorella has brought out some toxins in my body, which are causing my symptoms. Will these toxins flush out of my system, if that is the case?

Answer: If symptoms subside from stopping the chlorella you will know this brand is toxic and should not be used - same as happened in my case. Maybe you are afraid to stop the chlorella (I was) - but I felt better right away AND learned the truth about the chlorella I was taking.

Chlorella does not RELEASE toxins - it BINDS (holds) them and carries them out safely. So usually in taking chlorella, if you keep feeling worse, it is toxic chlorella.

Some strategies for dealing with herxheimer reaction may also help recover faster from toxic chlorella, so in either case - even if it were good chlorella and you are detoxifying too fast (unlikely) - colon cleansing and/or coffee enema may help.
