Parasites and Liver Detox: What the Herb Companies Don't Want You to Know
Products for parasites, liver detox and gallbladder purge have become more popular.
Increasing numbers of websites promote them, complete with up close and personal photos of gruesome life forms that live in our innards. Ugh!
We are told that many of our ills are directly or indirectly due to parasitic infestation, and we really SHOULD do an herbal purge to get rid of them.
The reality is that a large percentage of people in modernized countries DO harbor such unwanted residents in their colon, and other parts of the body.
These organisms ARE responsible for many undesirable symptoms.
It is good to purge them from our systems, however you don't necessarily need to search for just the right one out of scores of herbal detoxification products.
Herbal Parasites Liver Detox Myths and Fact
Parasites and liver detox go hand-in-hand. Worms, larvae, amoebic life forms and other undesirables are more common than you might like to think. They can take up residence in many organs. Liver, gallbladder and small intestine are first-line targets because they are most accessible to organisms that come in with our food.
Be comforted that the more you maintain your vitality, take extra care in choosing your food sources and the more you support liver, gallbladder and intestinal health, the less the likelihood of parasite problems.
Myth #1: The impression that when you use the herbal product, you will see live parasites in the toilet bowl.
I can tell you, as strong a stomach as I have, you would definitely hear a shriek if that happened to me!
I have done more extensive deep cleansing than anyone I know, and I have never seen any 'alien' life forms twitching in the toilet. (However, I have seen what looked like the remains of deceased ones).
Testimonials you find on many herbal cleanse websites often contain graphic descriptions of intact worm-like creatures expelled by a shocked user of said product.
The part of us that is fascinated by the gruesome finds such stories irresistible. Like someone who likes horror movies. We also want to make sure WE don't harbor such monstrosities, so are tempted even if we feel well, to do an herbal cleanse 'to make sure.'
The truth is, except in cases of MASSIVE infestation, seeing a recognizable life form in our poop is an EXTREMELY rare occurrence! The fact is that in the vast majority of cases, those that are eliminated have died awhile before and are not readily recognizable.
I would be wary of stories of wiggling worms and flailing flukes.
Myth #2: Symptoms like fatigue, indigestion, bloating, headache and constipation indicate likely presence of parasites and will go away once you have done the protocol.
Possible, but there are so many conditions that can cause such symptoms there are no guarantees a purge will make you feel better. Mercury toxicity and body burdens of other heavy metals derange liver function and bile flow, lower thyroid function, digestive capacity etc. and interfere with a multitude of enzymatic functions. Any and all of these can cause the fatigue, headaches, poor digestion and other functions parasite cleanses claim to cure.
Myth #3: If you have parasites, regular herbal cleansing and a good diet will solve the problem.
Maybe, but again other factors are not being considered.
As an example, mercury toxicity can damage the nerves that stimulate peristalsis in the gut. This leads to constipation and more toxic build-up, in turn providing a welcome environment for intestinal invaders. The mercury must be eliminated, and a comprehensive program followed to heal the whole body, the gut especially.
In the above example, normal peristaltic action must be restored.
Another fact not often discussed is that herbs that get rid of parasites ALSO kill beneficial bacteria throughout the digestive tract!
Therefore, a highly effective probiotic supplement must be taken to restore the lactobacillus and other strains of good bacteria.
Do You Know that Liver Detox is a Great Parasite Cleanse?
Speaking of parasites, do you know that the liver and gallbladder can contain them, too? That is why improving the efficiency of these organs is important for getting rid of parasites.
Liver detox and gallbladder flush methods help to clear the bile ducts, make the bile more fluid and promote healthy bile flow.
Do you know...
Promoting proper bile flow is an excellent measure for deterring parasites!
Because bile normalizes the pH of the intestines, creating an unfavorable environment for unwanted 'guests!'
Bile also stimulates peristalsis (involuntary contractions of the intestinal walls that move digested food along efficiently). Normal peristalsis keeps us regular (i.e. prevents constipation), AND dumps those nasty freeloaders out the back door once the bile has made life difficult for them!
Constipation is an all-too-common problem that leads to build-up of matter in the colon. Impacted fecal matter is a perfect breeding ground for parasites.
So liver detox that promotes bile flow helps keep us free of parasites!
Herbal parasite cleanses have a long history of use. However, I want to share the perspective that they are not the only natural means of discouraging and getting rid of parasites.
A Step Beyond: Parasites and 'Biofilms'
What are biofilms?
Biofilms is the word for the mucus-like, tenacious and difficult to penetrate substance secreted by most internal parasites for protection.
This stuff exuded by life forms from bacteria to worms surrounds and sticks to them, acting as a buffer. The existence of biofilms is why infections and parasites can persist in the body despite the use of antibiotics, herbs and other medicinals intended to evict or kill them.
A product that breaks down 'biofilms' would contribute greatly to getting rid of parasites. All manner of unfriendly organisms from one-celled protozoa, sub-clinical bacterial and fungal infections, and larger invaders such as ascaris (roundworm) would be on the run.
I recently learned about biofilms from a scientist who is developing a way to safely break them down.
Breaking down the biofilm surrounding parasites leaves them vulnerable. Unprotected, they are more easily gotten rid of, and a cleansing program will be more effective.
As soon as this product becomes available, I will investigate further and relay any new things I learn.
