I've been an organic garlic grower for over 19 years. Here are some newly dug garlic bulbs from this year's harvest, laid out to cure in the wood shed.
The beauties to your left are Chesnok Red garlic, an old heirloom variety. Chesnok Red is a favorite, with its rich, complex flavor.
My latest gardening endeavor is lily breeding experiments. Here, I am applying the pollen from the stamens (male part) of an orange Rocket City daylily to the pistil (female part) of an heirloom variety known as Hyperion. We'll see how things develop next year!
