Hands-on Knowledge of the Body

Over 30 years of experience in private practice as a Certified Advanced Rolfer (hands-on structural body treatment) gives Ellen a very well-grounded, direct, in-depth understanding of the physical body and of healing. 

Rolfing is the physically deepest and most profoundly transformative of all hands-on body therapies. 

In addition to giving the client a more youthful, supple, balanced body, the process commonly precipitates emotional growth and life changes.

Being a Rolfer requires the physical strength to deeply release rigid, built-up, chronically tense muscle and connective tissue. A high level of body awareness is needed to accomplish the work with finesse and find just the right level of tissue tension to work on at every moment. 

Rolfing frees areas of the body that often hold a charge of emotional trauma. For this reason, the Rolfer must be in touch with the nuances of both their own feelings and those of the client. They must have the inner strength and balance that provides a safe and stable environment for the client.

That is the nature of the work that Ellen Landauer has been involved in for decades. 

In her career as a Rolfer, Ellen dedicated her work to helping her clients achieve greater aliveness and freedom.
